Birth Centenary of Sir Winston Churchill.
SCARCE. This stamp has double PVAD and is also on thicker paper.
Issued on the 9th October 1974.
Printed in photogravure by Harrision & Sons Limited with “All-over phosphor”.
The colours of the stamp are crimson, light claret, and also silver.
This stamp is found in the Stanley Gibbons Specialised Catalogue Volume 5. The number for the PVA version is W293
Concise (2019) catalogue number for the normal PVAD version is 964. The Concise catalogue does not include this example.
